Net worth testAssets minus primary residence value, minus liabilities (excess mortgage debt over home value counts)
Individual income testOver $200,000 in each of the last two years, expected to continue
Joint income testOver $300,000 combined with a spouse, in each of the last two years

Common questions
SEC rules specifically exclude the value of your primary residence from the net worth test, and generally exclude mortgage debt on it too (up to the home’s value) — only mortgage debt that exceeds the home’s value counts as a liability. The idea is to test liquid financial capacity, not home equity.
