Axis Bank Atlas Credit Card Review: Transferable EDGE Miles for Frequent Flyers

Finance & Business 4.0 Updated 24 August 2026 Rs.5,000 + GST/year (waived above Rs.10 lakh annual spend)

Pros

  • EDGE Miles transferable to ~20 airline/hotel partners including Singapore Airlines, Air India, Etihad, Qatar
  • 5 miles/Rs.100 on travel spend, meaningfully above most competitors'' base travel rate
  • Tiered milestone program scales lounge access and bonus miles with spend
  • Fee waivable at Rs.10 lakh annual spend

Cons

  • 3.5% forex markup is high for a travel-positioned card
  • Accelerated 5x travel rate caps at Rs.2 lakh of monthly travel spend
  • Full tier benefits require Rs.15 lakh annual spend to reach Platinum
  • Gold, rent, wallet, government, insurance, fuel, and utility spends excluded from milestone tracking

Miles program

Atlas earns EDGE Miles at 5 miles per Rs.100 on travel spends (capped at Rs.2 lakh of monthly travel spend, dropping to 2 miles/Rs.100 beyond that) and 2 miles per Rs.100 on all other eligible spends. Miles transfer to airline and hotel loyalty programs including Air India Maharaja Club, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Etihad Guest, Qatar Airways, Accor, IHG One Rewards, Flying Blue, and Aeroplan -- around 20 partners in total, with British Airways Club, Finnair Plus, Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles, and IndiGo BluChip added more recently. Redemption through Axis's own Travel EDGE portal runs at 1 EDGE Mile = Rs.1.

Fee and welcome benefit

Joining and annual fee is Rs.5,000 + GST, with 2,500 EDGE Miles credited as a welcome benefit on the first transaction within 37 days of card setup. The fee is waivable at roughly Rs.10 lakh of annual spend, and airline-transfer value alone can often exceed the fee for an active traveler.

Tier structure

Tier Annual spend threshold What you get
Silver Rs.3 lakh Entry milestone tier, 2,500 bonus EDGE Miles
Gold Rs.7.5 lakh 2,500 further bonus EDGE Miles, improved lounge access
Platinum Rs.15 lakh 5,000 bonus EDGE Miles, top lounge tier (up to 4 international visits)

Gold/Jewellery, rent, wallet loads, government institutions, insurance, fuel, utilities, and telecom spends do not count toward these milestone thresholds.

Fees to know before applying

Foreign currency markup is a relatively high 3.5% -- notable for a travel-branded card, since some competitors now offer 1.5-2%. Finance charges run 3.6%/month (52.86% p.a.) on revolving balances, and cash withdrawal carries a 2.5% fee (minimum Rs.500).

How it compares

Against HDFC Infinia (3.33% flat + SmartBuy acceleration, unlimited lounge, single-redemption-portal model) Atlas trades some base-rate strength for genuine airline-transfer flexibility -- useful if you want premium-cabin redemptions rather than cash-value SmartBuy bookings. Within Axis's own lineup, a common pairing is Atlas for travel bookings and airline miles alongside ACE for everyday domestic cashback.

Bottom line

A strong pick for travelers who want redemption flexibility across multiple airline and hotel programs rather than being locked to one co-branded relationship, at a meaningfully lower fee than the super-premium tier. The 3.5% forex markup is the one line item that undercuts its travel-card positioning -- pair it with a low-forex card for the international-spend portion of a trip if that matters to you.

Fees, reward rates, caps, and benefits verified against issuer pages and multiple comparison-site listings as of August 2026, including recent 2026 devaluations and rule changes noted above -- confirm current terms on the issuer's official page/MITC before publishing or applying, as card terms change without notice.
